SAN FRANCISCO – Jeffrey B. Aardahl, a respected wildlife biologist and manager recently retired from the US Bureau of Land Management’s Ridgecrest Field Office, has joined the Center to work from California on conservation issues in the Great Basin, Mojave, and Sonoran Deserts of the California Desert Conservation Area.

“After a 34 year career in the federal government, I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with the Center for Biological Diversity in conserving our nation's biological resources for current and future generations,” said Aardahl.

Jeff has worked on public lands and natural resources management since 1968 with the Forest Service, BLM, and National Park Service. He is a Humboldt State University graduate who grew up in Pasadena.

Jeff Aardahl received 18 honors and awards during his three decades as a federal natural resources manager.

“We’re excited to have Jeff Aardahl on our team. His experience, respect, and smarts will benefit desert wildlife and the public-interest for conservation,” said Daniel R. Patterson, Ecologist & Deserts Program Director with the Center.
